In a search to find his closest and only friend, his dog Peter, high school student Rusty slowly realizes his intense isolation and lack of any social interactions with anyone other than his pet. After Peter disappears one morning, Rusty frantically searches the streets where he runs into a young girl, Iris, who has been kicked out of her house. She joins Rusty in his search for Peter, and more importantly, companionship.
