During the late 1800's in the central Texas hills, Matthew Connor makes his way across the barren terrain with Ethan Macavoy's gang in pursuit just days behind. Wounded, without food and water, and without a horse, Matthew happens upon a traveling missionary, Faith Brooks, and the two form an uneasy bond as Ethan's gang closes in.
