Leo Fillmore, a recently credentialed teacher, is pink-slipped and loses his job, in turn, forcing him to rent out to college students in the area. Leo is also forced back to his former position at Starbucks, lowering his self-esteem even further as he feels that he is digressing in life. Within Leo's own inner struggle and state of arrested development, he shuts himself out from the world becoming very hostile and unwelcoming. As Leo's life begins to take a turn for the worst, he finds comfort in talking with his roommates, who he discovers have more in common with him that expected.
