The film 'What Happened to Esther' highlights the story of a poor African-Nova Scotian midwife and what happened to her the day of the Halifax Explosion. As she walks into the city she realizes that this is her last day on earth and, inspired by her Baptist roots, feels blessed to join her husband in heaven.
