Set thirty years from now in a dystopian future, we follow Albert, the first bioengineered humanoid (or 'Authentic') created with the capacity to feel human emotion. After his creator Soren is revealed to be traitor and is ruthlessly executed, Albert looks to avenge his father and sides with an underground human terrorist group known as the 'Strays' in order to bring down Immanuel, the Machiavellian leader of the new society. The primary antagonist in the series is a mysterious figure known only as Meursault, who is bent on the destruction of the 'Strays' and the destruction of Isaac, the ruthless head of this company.
