The Fallen People of the Black Land

Sent as punishment to spend the night with his foolish ancestors of Piche, Kayana, an adolescent Amerindian boy, is caught between the world of conscience and the world of survival. Will conscience override his basic survival instincts- to find food and abate the anger of his Gods with an offering? The Colibri bird appears, presenting itself as an easy catch and a perfect solution. The whispers of his fallen ancestors who once ate the sacred Colibri call him to them, louder and louder. In an instant, the battle for manhood that is part of teenage angst is upon him and the worlds of survival and conscience clash with the cymbals of fear and faith.
