In a near future world decimated by radical climate change, humans live nocturnally to avoid lethal sun-exposure. Marie, a rebellious teen, defies her father's restrictions and embarks on a birthday adventure to see the ocean. The adventure goes horribly wrong. Marie, deserted by her friends, will only escape with her life if she and her father resolve their differences and learn to work together.
