Located just beyond the concrete jungle of Chiang Mai lies a different jungle of lush green trees, mountains and fresh water. Within this jungle lies the sanctuary of The Elephant Nature Park. Unlike all other tourist outfits in Thailand, the nature park gives visitors the opportunity to interact with elephants in their natural habitat. Here, elephants are given an escape from tourism and the illegal logging industry. Tortured elephants are rescued and given the opportunity to heal both mentally and physically. While each elephant has a past, they now hold a bright future.
