Artist Rembrandt van Rijn is famous for his portrait paintings, many of which are of his family, friends and of himself. The design of this animation is based on Rembrand's pencil drawings and sketches. One early morning, Rembrandt is having difficulties with painting one of his self-portraits. He loses control over his brushes and the portrait literally takes over his life.
