On a cold dark night in Liverpool 1979, two teenaged girls Megan and Sam from sit alone watching a horror movie at Megan's parents home. When an unearthly demon enters the house Sam is subsequently burnt by a possessed candle flame and mysteriously vanishes. Following an electrical power-cut Megan must now find Sam, using only candles for light she is unknowingly playing with death.
