Nighttime in Berlin. Small time crook Leo is injured and on the run from someone he has stolen a briefcase from. After he has seemingly escaped he comes across a young Russian woman who is trying to kill herself by jumping off a bridge. He stops her and the two spend the rest of the night together, wandering around the lonely streets of the city. But as dawn approaches Leo's pursuer is also coming closer...
