'Mimespringa' is a coming of age short film about an Amish family of mimes. The story is told from the son's perspective, in mockumentary style. 'Mimespringa' is a play on words, referring to the Amish coming-of-age ritual: Rumspringa. We follow David as he leaves his family and discovers what it means to really live life for himself, instead of through pantomime. Throughout his journey, David feels liberation, joy, pain and regret for the first time. Before post-production had begun on this film, Jonathan, who played David and who wrote and directed this film, passed away in a car accident. This film means a lot to us and we hope you'll feel the love, hard work, and dedication that was put into this film.
