Ben a struggling writer with no inspiration sends his emotions out into the void through letters. He wonders if his voice will ever be heard by anyone besides his fish Wallace. Emily finds his letters and contemplates what to do. With the help of her best friend Janet, Emily begins to build a relationship with Ben.
