Joseph is a young Catholic boy who struggles every day in an abusive relationship with his father. His father, a stern and strongly religious man, fights to maintain order and control over his wife and son, even through means of verbal and physical abuse. When members of Josephs community begin to notice signs of the conflict at home they try to intervene, but as Joseph reviews the teachings of his church he begins to wonder if he can really be saved.
