TREAT is an intimate portrait of one girl's struggle to understand and accept her ruptured family. The film follows her quiet but dramatic journey through a suburban landscape of trick-or-treating where she discovers what matters most to her. The film seeks to deal with contemporary ideas and ideals about what 'home' should look like. The cookie-cutter image of a house and fenced yard still lingers; however, most families diverge from this stereotype. With this film, we want to explore a more realistic family, one that is split up, spread out, and disconnected; yet still somehow drawn together.
