This documentary follows the unique events of a small-town government in Ikast-Brande, Denmark. Ikast-Brande covers an area of Denmark that, within spiritual communities, is regarded as particularly energetic and sacred. Finding themselves in a state of financial unrest as its number of taxpayers decreases, the municipality collaborates with artists and local clairvoyants to create the Ikast-Brande Spiritual Council, an advisory body consisting of three psychics whose intentions will be to advise the municipality's leadership on certain topics and issues using their own ways of prudence. When news of the controversial events reaches the rest of the nation, seemingly 'progressive' Ikast-Brande politicians second-guess their actions and abruptly end the anticipated year long collaboration.
