Balance is a metaphorical, surreal take on narcissism, self-control and desire of perfection, depicting a day in the life of a nameless man who's in love with one side of his face while dreading the other. He will go to great lengths to prevent others from seeing what he considers to be his uglier profile. Depicting his desires, antics and awkward social phobias, the film opens and closes with a motif of a bridge that serves as a symbolic rite of passage for the protagonist, one that can set him free or lead to his doom, for the bridge is a trial that can only be passed safely by those possessing inner balance.
