While vacationing at his aunt Diane's secluded country home, Jack soon finds out she has imprisoned her daughter Alice under suspicion of a dangerous mental illness. Jack elicits the help of two young women aiding in Diane's bible-studies to uncover the truth about his cousin's captivity, and is entangled in a struggle to preserve innocence that might only be skin deep; in this brooding psychological horror that culminates in a grim series of events.
