A young Casualty Notification Officer from the U.S. Army's 173rd Airborne Brigade seeks out the sole survivor of a PFC. who was killed in Afghanistan 12 hours earlier. When the officer finds the PFC's father, a Vietnam veteran dying in a VA Hospital, an extraordinary act of humanity unfolds during the night.
