What is shown in the movie is the microscopic and molecular level of HIV infection: the cell surface, with different types of proteins, the inside of a vein in which an infected T lymphocyte is budding numerous viral particles, and the final, close-up scene of the binding of HIV spike to CD4 and CCR5.
