The Fate of Glass & Thomas Long is a short documentary about the art of blowing glass and artist Thomas Long. It explores the evolution of glass from simply being considered a craft, to it being considered a fine art today. Thomas explains how he was caught in a major dilemma during this time. If he chose to devote his life to blowing glass, would he ever be considered a serious artist - or simply a glassblower? In addition Thomas explains his philosophy for his art and is filmed blowing beautiful, fluid and colorful glass sculptures.
