A boy and his younger step-brother are growing up in America, 1964. Their lives are nothing special, beyond the day to day magic of being kids. Their mother, however, struggles to make ends meet, while her husband lolls about all day. To ease their suffering, a local priest gives them money on the side. When the husband finds out why, everybody's life is threatened.
