A young enthusiastic lighthouse operator during WWII is eager to break free from his mundane life on the British coast and do his part for his country, when one night an unconscious body washes up ashore, news of a prison breakout in Bridgend rises suspicion that the washed up man may be a German POW, setting off a spiral of events that shows him the bitterness of war. The film is a coming of age drama set set against the backdrop of the final moments of WWII and looks at the theme of war and the people it affects.
