In a modern society there is a myth that children should be grateful for being taken from an orphanage. However, it`s sometimes not easy to deserve love of the child who has experienced far from the best sides of life. The main character of the movie is 9 years old and the orphanage is his only home. A young Swedish family invites the boy to spend his summer vacation at their place. The whole situation is complicated by a language barrier: Gena does not speak Swedish, and Katarina and Matthias speak no Russian.
