Here's another of the short subjects that Gale Henry made around 1920, when she was starring in her own series of shorts. Like most of them, it was directed by her husband, Bruno Becker.Miss Henry is the maid-of-all-work at a hotel. She cleans everything, operates the elevator, cooks and serves the meal and spots series regular, Milburn Morante apparently strangling a young woman in her room.Between 1914 and 1933, Miss Henry appeared in almost 250 movies, the vast majority of them short subjects. SHe played an awkward, gawky woman. Towards the end of her movie career, she appeared occasionally in some of Charley Chase's funnier shorts. However, by then, she and her second husband, Harry East, had begun raising and training dogs for the movies, the best remembered of them Skippy, who played Asta in the THIN MAN movies. She died in 1972, aged 79.
