What precedes the beholder's feeling that something extra-ordinary is about to happen? Why in the words of Charles Munch - one of the most significant conductors of the XX century, certain conductors only have to appear on stage and their presence excites and electrifies the auditorium? Why 'conducting is a shady business'? 'Conduction' is an involving hour long dipping into one of the most enigmatic musical profession's atmosphere. This film is about work. Purely about work, step by step. Rehearsals of the orchestra, singers, ballet... Rhythm. Ceaseless rhythm pierces the film: one-two, one-two-three, one, one-two-three... Music... Stravinsky, Mozart take turns, then Jean-Philippe Rameau, the dance by Jiri Kylian... The conductor Teodor Currentzis addresses musicians: 'When you play for yourself here, in the pit, the music will stay with you here, but if you think of the music projecting to the gods - it overpasses the space'. And she overpasses. She wings the air not only to the gods but she wings her flight to beholders. And one can hear the silence beyond her. The silence of creation.
