The Inevitable Fall of a Flying Fish

An experimental short film, The Fall of the Flying Fish both frames and fragments the notion of self and identity through the perilous film-within-a-film journey of its main character. Often exchanged with battling contenders, he does not know he is an actor and we follow him between dream and reality as he figures out the confines of his situation. Referencing the absurd and the surreal, the film's beautiful and humorous scenes follow him through rituals; the mundane of every New Yorker's morning, the cabalistic ancient fire blessings, & the Sisyphean of rearranging the beds in a library. The audience is then left to question weather one can ever match how they identify themselves with how others see them? And if not does it really matter?
