Conjure: The Folklore of Dr. Jim Jordan
Only a small green sign marking an Intersection on NC Hwy 258 reminds us of the man who was called: 'The Last Great Conjure Doctor of the Eastern Seaboard'. A folklore, not a history of a man and his incredible story of self determination in the thicket of Jim Crow in rural North Carolina. The film interweaves a staged performance with documentary elements to evoke a time filled with secrets and mystery.
