Sherman, a young soldier in the 'Raging Geese' Company, is fighting for recognition as a fighter. Sherman misses the opportunity as Hertzog, his commander, undermines his attempts to participate in combat. Sherman's despair brings him to trial with life as a soldier and as a Human Being.
