Beginning with a breathtaking scene of a woman being formed from clay, 'The Secret Place' follows 'Libi' into her young-adulthood where she begins to develop an eating disorder. Interwoven are scenes from a storybook, in which a princess is tricked into believing she's ugly and taken away to a garden where girls do strange and destructive things to try to make themselves beautiful. Told from these two parallel worlds, this highly metaphorical film represents the struggle that every woman goes through at some point in her life when the constant pressure to be perfect becomes too much to handle.
