Atropos is one of the Greek Moirae who severs the thread of life. 75-year-old Mr. Matthes, a retired engineer, awakes one morning next to his wife only to realize that she had died in her sleep. In shock, Mr. Matthes sways between desperation and the strange fulfillment of his duty.
