Lyle is a private investigator whose life is based on two absolutes: a strong sexual desire and an incurable sense of loneliness. Lyle finds pleasure and comfort in Genesee, a prostitute he sleeps with. As time goes on Genesee considers this relationship work while Lyle starts to get more and more involved. His utopian love eventually morphs into an obsessive feeling.
