Will Andrews is a writer who begins to be haunted by nightmares of his troubled childhood after he inherits his deceased uncle's home that he grew up in. His Aunt May, a seemingly kind soul who had taken care of Will when he was a child, seems to be encouraging of Will staying on at the house before he makes any rash decisions to sell it. Will had recently spent a year in a sanitarium, Purgatory where he had checked himself in after suffering a nervous breakdown. His agent and long time friend, Chris has given him an assignment to write a screenplay based on a novel by an unknown writer. Upon arriving at the house, Will begins to suffer black out spells where he sees images from a childhood that he thought he had forgotten about. The memories of the past aren't the only thing haunting him...he has an unknown caller who seems to know his every move before he does. The morning after his ex-girlfriend Diane and he have reunited, he awakens to her dead body lying next to him covered in blood. Sure he will be the first and only suspect, he disposes of her decapitated body in the woods in an attempt to cover up the murder. He cannot remember how it happened or why? Everyone he knows becomes a suspect including himself. Can he discover who the killer is before the cops narrow in on his involvement? The unknown caller terrorizes him and taunts him with calls and threats to tell the cops if he does not do exactly as they say do. When the crime appears to be resolved....the finale of Will's story is a twist that no one will see coming proving that reality is often more terrorizing than fiction.
