An old General Electric fan starts to turn. The machinist inserts a steel rod into a metal lathe. Wheels turn and sparks fly - the rough piece of metal begins to take form as he moves from milling machine to drill press to grinder. The electric meter hums and his coffee pot boils. He inspects his workmanship, drinks his coffee and he is done.
