August is a twelve year old boy growing up on his family's dairy farm. His parents have separated and his mom has moved into another property on the farm while his father has started a relationship with a much younger woman. Navigating the literal and emotional distance between his parents' homes, August must grapple with whether he can complete a grisly job his father has assigned him.
