A lone man awakens in the middle of the night in a remote beach shack to the sound of his old surfboard rattling in the wind. It is clear he is both drunk and depressed, and has been for sometime. A memory is triggered of his past life, a bittersweet snapshot of a happier time he knows he will never enjoy again. Grief-stricken, he takes his surfboard down to the deserted night-time beach with the intent of throwing himself into the ocean, but instead the ocean throws something back at him.
