Sam Compson, a Vietnam veteran, returns home with nothing but a broken heart and an insatiable blood lust driving him towards madness and murder. His best friend, Audrey, tries to help him readjust to his old life, but Sam starts to wonder if these urges are new, or if they were always buried inside him.
