Told mostly in flashback, an older woman reminisces of her experience of the 1965 war between India and Pakistan on the anniversary. Intercut with rare archival footage, we see the newly married nurse take blood, donate her jewelry, walk the streets of Lahore with soldiers everywhere, through roadblocks and at home looking after her young son. Mixing black and white and colour footage the images tell the story of civilian sacrifice, the army's recognition of that contribution and civic duty.
