Through archive footage, rarely seen images and interviews with José Lewgoy's fellow actors, directors, friends and family members, director Cláudio Kahns recreates the life of this great Brazilian actor: his studies in the Yale Drama Dep., his work in both the "Chanchada" and the "Cinema Novo" (Brazilian film movements, his soap-opera roles, his time working in France with pre-French New Wave auteurs, his late role in Herzog's "Fitzcarroldo", etc... Such is the importance of Lewgoy that, by following his story, "Eu Eu Eu José Lewgoy" manages to serve as an extensive overview to the history of Brazilian Film & TV.
