Luke has been suffering from PTSD which he got from the car accident that claimed his parents' life. His only consolation is writing a novel for Olivia, whom he secretly loves. On the day when he finally locks the draft to dedicate to Olivia, Luke learns that Jake, his older brother, proposed to her - which she gladly accepted. During the engagement party for Jake and Olivia, Luke excuses himself, unable to deal with the sorrow and jealousy.
