A research lab known as Reflex, has been experimenting with a protocol process in which the pathogen is joined with human samples. Androids, which cannot become infected, were built to control the human specimens intentionally injected with the alien pathogen. Something goes wrong in the lab, the pathogen escapes, humans are accidentally infected and killed, and the earth becomes a wasteland.
