The Golden Record is the story of replication. Originally launched on the Voyager spacecraft in 1977 as a interstellar experiment, it was a loving attempt to share the sounds of planet earth with other worlds. The short film of the same name continues that search for connection. After a feverish failed relationship, Elizabeth is listless and finds solace in the memory of her lost lover. By creating an archive of their experience she discovers how to both connect with her past relationship and let it go at the same time. The Golden Record is a contemplation on technology, love, and the cosmos.
