Buffalonians is not just a heartwarming story of a hard working people, and family love. It's also the story of Buffalo, NY, a beautiful town once known as the largest industrial city in America. Yet in spite of the hardships, harsh weather, and failed businesses, the city refuses to give up. It's the story that dreams are made of when a young man named Liam Sheehan leaves all that he knows, his country, and his family behind in Ireland. As so many have before him, he comes to America to seek his fortune. He embarks upon a journey that takes him to the land where it's said the streets are paved with gold. In his later years, he finds comfort in the little city that could, because of the kindred spirit he feels for it, and the love and devotion of his family. - This is a Capraesque film, a fictional story about an Irishmen who comes to America in the late 1930s to attend college at first. He was sent by the family to America to pave the way. But if you want God to laugh, tell him your plans. Liam is a principled man and honorable, the way he was raised to be. He meets a beautiful Italian girl and sparks fly, plans change. He stays and builds a life in the bustling city of Buffalo, raises a family and lives his life well. There is also the parallel story of Buffalo told as a backdrop to the main story, this is the true part of the film.
