Once labeled the best improv group Philadelphia has ever produced, Rare Bird Show's retirement in 2013 after ten years on the scene marks the end of a Philly Comedy Institution. With comedic chops that put Philly-Bred Improv Comedy on the map locally, and nationally; Rare Bird Show established themselves as leaders and innovators who helped fuel the supersonic growth of the Philly Improv Comedy scene. Through archival footage and interviews with local Philly comedians, this short documentary traces Rare Bird Shows DIY beginnings and their lasting influence on the Philly Comedy Scene including their roles in the establishment of both the Philadelphia Improv Festival and the Philly Improv Theater.
