Using personal narratives from those who tried self harming for a short while, and those who have used this coping mechanism for most of their life, Self Inflicted is the first film to present this issue in a non-sensationalistic way, using information from the top researchers on Non Suicidal Self Injury: Dr. Janis Whitlock, and Dr. Mitch Prinstein. The film also involves poetry, artwork, music, and photography from self harmers to highlight this incredibly widespread but hidden practice.
