Dear Harvey is a short experimental video-letter, part-documentary and part-fiction. It is based on a letter written to San Francisco politician and gay rights activist Harvey Milk after his assassination, and takes us inside the mind of Anil (played by Anil Kamalagharan) as he has a nightmare about losing his voice. The film presents an unsettling empty space to signify Anil's subconscious and uses a number of non-actors from the Soho community in London to be the 'faceless' audience all waiting and willing him to speak for them, and who only come into sharp focus when he finds the courage to do so.
