A story about a young man, Sam, who goes against his father's wishes to find a job to help support his family during the hardship of WW II. Sam hearing of Frank, who is likely both good and bad, goes to him and convinces him he is a worthy hire. Sam's first job is to bring food to a Jewish woman who Frank takes care of while she 'takes care of things for him'. Sam's experience has left him with a sense of purpose as he helps support his family. Seeing how he has helped someone else has been an unexpected addition.
