Chris, a young adult, drives out to Joshua Tree for the weekend to visit his wandering hippie father (Wanji). Hoping to rekindle their estranged relationship, Chris arrives to find Wanji in a pathological state, existing in his own universe. Chris decides to use certain tactics in hopes of bringing Wanji back to reality. But, a lie soon unravels, ruining their relationship and Chris' faith in his father.
