The Curse of Edgar Allan Poe

Edgar Allan Poe is Veteran and struggling Writer/Blogger, who inherited a curse. He is on a journey to find the origin of the curse and how to control it POE: A Synopsis POE is a fictional, modern-day interpretation of Edgar Allan Poe, the man, and an excursion into his work using an episode-by-episode presentation based upon his poetry and stories. Poe's character is as vulnerable in the series as he was in real life with his burdensome share of demons and faults (e.g., gambling, bare knuckle brawls, smoking, alcoholism) and his share of vulnerabilities (i.e., grief and depression over the loss of his wife, post-traumatic stress disorder from Desert Storm). Poe also suffers from horrible migraines and an inability to control his unexpected travels through and into 'The Void' - the psychic state that allows him to peer through time into circumstances for which he has no prior or current knowledge. Initially, Poe used his 'gift' to try to contact his deceased birth mother Elizabeth Poe, in the midst of his grief but met with no success. Now, he uses this same gift to right wrongs, battle evil spirits, and to continue his search of the afterlife for his beloved Virginia. Poe is a spiritual conduit and a psychic social worker upon which many people have relied for assistance in this world and on into the next. Poe is also a talented reporter and writer. He investigates and writes about current events for for his associated blog, but periodically stumbles across a hodgepodge of other curiosities - unusual phenomena, unsolved mysteries, and cold case crimes - that grab his attention to the dismay of his boss. It is this collection of cases, which ultimately allows Poe to write the book that he has dreamed of writing most of his life. It is these cases where Poe's psychic abilities prove the most valuable. It is his forays into the void that allows Poe to help the people that he encounters every day to find closure, justice and resolution to difficult problems and life situations.
