In a rural village, Toad, a young boy, spends his days exploring overgrown heathlands. Intensely interested in animals, Toad attempts to preserve them after death. Spencer, an animal shelter worker, stumbles across Toad's experiments. He takes and examines one of Toad's animals, sparking a cat and mouse series of events.
